Before we met Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm and even before Professor X became skin head...there's history behind the X-Men. How it all began will be answered next year as X-Men: First Class hits the theaters.
X-Men: First Class already got a lot of attention even though filming hasn’t started yet. The movie is a prequel to the successful X-Men film franchise, where Emmy-nominated star, January Jones, will join the cast. Producer Bryan Singer revealed some big-league details about the prequel, including the fact that the movie is set on the 1960s. The move will show Charles Xavier, a.k.a Professor X, and Erik Lensher or Magneto in their late 20s as friends who are starting to assemble the first X-Men team.
Professor X will have his hair and the ability to walk in the movie, plus what causes Xavier to be confined in a wheelchair. Singer also confirmed that Kevin Bacon will play as Sebastian Shaw, leader of Hellfire Club, as the primary villain in the flick. The Hellfire Club team will include January Jones as the telepathic Emma Frost. However, since First Class is a prequel, we will not be able to see Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm and other members from the previous movie aside from Beast, to be portrayed by Nicholas Hault. Whether Beast will be human or covered with blue fur, that remains to be seen. The X-Men: First Class will be directed by Matthew Vaughn, and is scheduled to open on June 3 next year.
