Bit.ly Acquires Twitterfeed, Enhances Social Media Functions

Bit.ly has acquired automated social publishing tool, Twitterfeed, extending its capabilities into the social media platform.
Bit.ly, a popular URL shortening service on the micro-blogging website Twitter, has just bought Twitterfeed.
Twitterfeed is a program which lets bloggers publish their write-ups and RSS feeds into Twitter, Facebook, and other social services. According to the company, the purpose of this acquisition was to improve the functions of the two services, making it easier for web users to organize, shorten, and share their links. Bit.ly is probably the best URL shortener to date – in fact, it is the default URL shortening service of Twitter before they’ve planned to develop their own.
