Transmit videos through your glasses

Developers at ZionEyez in Seattle are working on Eyez, a pair of glasses with a tiny embedded video camera that can continuously record everything you see in 720p. The video can then be broadcasted wirelessly to social media sites like Facebook, for the world to see.

ZionEyez is describing Eyez as “a new revolution in social media technology,” enabling some exhibitionistic gadget lover to wear these video-shooting glasses that transmit the images via Bluetooth to an Eyez app on an iPhone or any Android device. The video would then be streamed through WiFi networks to video sites online, where it could all be viewed live.

The 8GB flash memory as well as a mini-USB port allows users to record the goings-on and then transfer them to a computer for editing and later transmission.

Here is another fascinating gadget which could turn into an interesting performance-art project. It won’t be long till everyone will record video of everything they do every day, and stream it live on the web.

Wi-Fi Direct: Non-Hotspot Wi-Fi Function

Written on October 26, 2010 by B Waldorf

Forget Bluetooth, better own the new Wi-Fi Direct. What does it do? It just gives you a Wi-Fi connection via a Wi-Fi device. You won't be needing the hotspots anymore. This technology is just awesome!

The Wi-Fi Alliance team has something worthwhile to share to you Wi-Fi fanatics. A news that will start a new trend. It was confirmed that the team produced a non-hotspot Wi-Fi called Wi-Fi Direct that makes connections among devices easy and hassle-free. This project is launched today. Great news, right?

The Wi-Fi Alliance conceptualized the Wi-Fi Direct by simply certifying the standard and guaranteeing inter-operability within devices. It doesn’t require wireless networks because there is a thing called micro-hotspots. This invention will allow devices such as Eye-Fi memory card to beam an image to a wireless printer. Voila! Your cellphone photo is now in hard copy. Then, you might raise concern about the speed. Wi-Fi Direct is based on 802.11b/g/n channels. Plus, the range is inevitable. The future Wi-Fi Direct devices are quite similar to home wireless networks.

This may be the downfall of the Bluetooth, since generally, the Wi-Fi Direct acquires the same function as what the Bluetooth provides.

Here’s a quick rendition of the functionality of Wi-Fi Direct, just click the link:
