Musicians Around the World Celebrate Bob Marley’s Birthday

“Bob Marley is one of the greatest musicians in the world and has the great ability to inspire people in every race, culture and economic status. [The song is a] great way to inspire people to come together.” ---Mark Johnson, founder of Playing for Change
To celebrate the 66th birthday of the Reggae icon Bob Marley, the band and foundation Playing for Change created a team together with the icon’s estate to create release a video that will initiate scoietal change.
The video, which debuted today on Facebook, will also be featured on Playing For Change – Songs Around The World, Vol. 2 CD and DVD out in May. It comes with a performance from the The Wailers’s final European tour. Stephen Marley, Bob’s son will also be on the video.
“This is the third Bob Marley song that we have done,” says Playing For Change founder Mark Johnson.
“Bob Marley is one of the greatest musicians in the world and has the great ability to inspire people in every race, culture and economic status. [The song is a] great way to inspire people to come together,” he added.
Playing For Change is a band and a foundation founded by Mark Johnson. Johnson spent four years of his life traveling and filming musicians all over the globe.
The said video is not similar to previous pieces of the band. Instead of the usual local musicians and established artists, Johnson incorporated a performance from Marley’s last and final tour. It set the tone and tempo for the rest of the performers including the icon’s son.
“You can walk by someone and they can change your life,” Johnson says.
After the break, see the video that we hope to change your life.
