Halo: Reach, Reaching Beyond Shooter Fans

As Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 becomes the best-selling shooter game of all time, Halo: Reach will land on a very different world as it debuts on September 14.
Becoming a cultural phenomenon last 2007, the fire flinging, sci-fi saga took over novels, toys and apparel boosting XBox sales, and bringing in cash for Microsoft Corp. But three years since Master Chief was put to bed by Bungie Studios, much has changed along the gaming landscape. Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty reclaimed the attention of hardcore gamers with their Modern Warfare series. However, gaming industry analyst, Michael Pachter, anticipates that Halo: Reach will sell over 6 million copies this year.
