Incipio’s iPhone 4 Game Boy Case Banned

Written on January 13, 2011 by Chris Martin

It's every gaming and Apple fan's fantasy. Unfortunately, the law likes to ruin everyone's dreams.

It seems we have to wait for the next big iPhone 4 case to come up, as this Game-Boy themed iPhone case concoted by Incipio won’t be coming out for consumers due to copyright violations (aren’t Nintendo and iPhone on the same team? oh wait, there’s the Incipio factor, damn). It certainly tickled our iPhone case taste buds when Inicipio showed it off over at the CES 2011 and it couldv’e been a nice follow up for the company after the iPod Nano watch bands. But unfortunately, it seems we’ll be only seeing pictures of the iPhone 4 Game-Boy case. So enjoy it while it lasts, because we’ll never get one (unless someone from China takes on the challenge of copying it.)

Sony Welcomes AMD Fusion in VAIO Y Series; S Series Stays Intel Core

Written on January 06, 2011 by Chris Martin

Looks like Intel is in deep trouble now that Sony has welcomed its chief competitor, AMD, into its line of mobile VAIOs.

We got AMD’s new Fusion APUs on one side, then Intel’s Sandybridge CPU on the other here at the CES 2011. While both try to strike a chord to the crowd with their flashy processors in the CES, it seems Sony couldn’t care less as it welcomes both into the fray of their new line of laptops. For the past years, Sony has been utilizing the power of Intel processors in their mobile computers. But recently, they unveiled that they’re using AMDs in some of their products now. Sony’s new VAIO YB series has been refreshed with AMD’s Brazos E350 and from what we’ve heard, the electronics giant admits that it’s better than Intel’s Pentium processors.

The Y series gives amazing graphics at the same time long battery life. It will be available with 320GB or 500GB hard drives along with a 4GB RAM and will run with Windows Home Premium. Intel needs not to worry though as Sony’s powerful, ultraportable VAIO S series is buffed with their own Core i3.

The Sony VAIO YA Series, which is backed by Core i5 processors, will still be available. But until when, only time can tell.

Written on January 06, 2011 by B Waldorf

While people are busy with CES 2011, there is a video that will probably call the attention of many consumers soon; a video which features iPhone 5 case.

While everyone is quite busy with CES 2011 revelations, Apple stays quiet in the corner. Though its absence at CES 2011 is quite disappointing they would not allow it to be left behind. Are we sensing iPhone 5 in the air?

Boy Genius reports a YouTube video from smartphone parts firm Global Direct Parts claiming to have a glimpse of the iPhone 4 and another unreleased iPhone model. This suggests either a CDMA iPhone 4 rumored release as the famous iPhone 5. However, the presence of a SIM card slot is quite questionable. This flawed the legitimacy of the video but we can never really can tell.

The highlights of the video includes similarities and differences from the current iPhone 4. See the video after the jump.

"Tablets may get the most attention, but far more TVs will be sold in 2011 and they'll increasingly connect to the Web and run software applications. Maybe we should think of them as huge iPads hanging on the wall." ---Seattle Times

The Consumer Electronics Show is nearly here. Make way Google, move over Apple! Microsoft Windows TV is here. According to Seattle Times, Microsoft offers an enhanced and connected TV experience right at the comforts of your home.

As Seattle Times noted:

“Tablets may get the most attention, but far more TVs will be sold in 2011 and they’ll increasingly connect to the Web and run software applications. Maybe we should think of them as huge iPads hanging on the wall.”

True to speak, the Internet TV craze is increasing. It’s like hitting two birds with one stone. Who would have thought that one day TV and Internet will be intertwined?

The Times said that these boxes will be under the power of Microsoft’s Windows Embedded platform and use the Windows Media Center interface. The TV sets have price tags of $200 price point.

One more thing, the ARM processors will be revealed at CES 2011 which was reported by NY Times and The WSJ last year. It says that the newest version of Windows could at least be two years out and that the company aims for the full version of OS to ARM devices. In other words, this is different.

If this rumor is true, then finally, there is contender to compete against Apple TV, Boxee and Google TV.

Taiwanese Pop Star Flaunts an iPad Mini?

Written on December 28, 2010 by B Waldorf

A Taiwanese Pop Star shows off an iPad Mini on his blog. But is it really an iPad Mini or just another product of Photoshop?

We can’t help but feel surprised when we saw the photo of the Taiwanese pop star and racing driver “Dreamer Jimmy” showing off an iPad mini on his blog. Yes, you’re reading it right –iPad Mini.

The photo shows Jimmy comparing an iPad and an iPad mini with a caption that reads:

‘新玩具mini iPad,’ which translates as: ‘[My] new toy mini iPad.’

People are confused whether  this is a Photoshop trick or the Chinese star carries a genuine article. It looks like an iOS powered device and the gizmo also has the hint of Apple design. Though this photo is not enough to prove the existence of such device.

It tallies up the rumor that there is an all new iPad coming. Taiwanese website, Digitimes, reported that Foxconn will have a new iPad ready by the end of February 2011.

CES 2011 is a few weeks away. The event is likely to bring new sets of tablets from Android and Windows. Is this the venue where the iPad Mini will be launched?
