After quarter-century, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers or ICANN started lifting rules in terms of allowing Internet addresses suffixes to be named after brands or products.

The non-profit organization based in California, who was the first to permit the use of ‘.com’ in 1984, announced the new guidelines on Monday. Apple could now end the names of their websites with ‘.ipad’ while Chase could register for the domain which ends with ‘.bank’. Furthermore, environment groups could use the ‘.eco’ suffix.
