UK Hackers Attack Russian Embassy Website

The Russian Embassy website was taken down by a DDoS attack in objection to the Prime Minister's first visit to Russia since the killing of Alexander Litvinenko in 2006.
The website of the Russian Embassy in London has crashed due to a suspected hacking attack, Reuters reported recently. The said move was made just before Prime Minister, David Cameron, begins his first visit to Moscow after five years since a Kremlin critic was killed in London.
For the past several years, David Cameron became very vocal with regards to the killing of Alexander Litvinenko — a former Russian spy who was poisoned by a radioactive polonium-210 in 2006. David Cameron accepted the Prime Minister position to fix their relationship with Russia and its president, Dmitry Medvedev.
“Prior to the visit of Prime Minister David Cameron to Russia, the website of the Russian Embassy in London (www.rusemb.org.uk) was brought down by a suspected DDoS (distributed denial of service) attack,” the embassy explained in a statement.
A DDoS attack is described to be the one in which hackers flood a site with information requests, therefore, making it unavailable to official users. Meanwhile, a Russian embassy spokesman disclosed that the problems with the website began last Friday night. The site turned to be accessible for a short time on Saturday but was down again the following day.
