Snapchat claims that their users send over 350 million photo messages daily

Facebook reportedly offered $1 billion to purchase the mobile photo messaging app, Snapchat. According to some industry sources, the bid was declined by Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel.

Facebook has also acquired Instagram for the same amount last year and has introduced a similar mobile messaging service named Poke. Snapchat was said to have over 350 million photo messages sent daily by its users.

Both Facebook and Snapchat has not comfirmed this rumor.

Indian woman divorcing her husband for not changing relationship status to married on Facebook.

A 28 year old Indian IT professional wife has filed for divorce from her 31 year old businessman husband for not changing his relationship status to married on Facebook. The couple just got married two months ago.

The husband explained to the court that he just simply forgot to change his relationship status. However his wife is still pursuing with her divorce petition due to lack of trust on her her husband. The judge ordered the couple to undergo six months of marriage counselling.

This is not the first news of a relationship, particularly a marriage to crumble due to Facebook. However this is probably the lamest and weirdest reason for divorce, ever.

Facebook to go on Public on May 18. Company shares to get expensive as launch nears.

Facebook is set to go on public this May. You can now own a piece of Facebook at the price of $25 to $35 Per Share.

Based on the papers they filed last Thursday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the social networking giant will be worth as much as $86.6 billion once it goes public on May 18th. Stock prices are also predicted to increase as the day of the launch nears.

Facebook seem to be a good investment, so if you can afford it, purchase as many shares as you can.

KFC Thailand finally apologizes for posting an insensitive tsunami ad in their Facebook Page.

KFC Thailand finally says sorry for posting an insensitive message in their official Facebook, urging people to head to their fastfood chain, amidst the tsunami warnings, caused by a recent earthquake in Indonesia . The message said: “Let’s hurry home and follow the earthquake news. And don’t forget to order your favorite KFC menu.”

As we all remember, like Indonesia, Thailand was also struck by the tsunami a few years ago, leaving thousands of 8,000 people dead.

It was really callous of KFC Thailand to post such remarks, even for advertising purposes.

Facebook’s “Download Your Information” feature is an option that is found in your Facebook’s account settings, that allows users to download an archive of your entire account history. It was introduced last October 2010.

It now a has new upgrade that not only includes your photos, posts, messages, friend lists and chats, but also allows you to get your previous names, friend requests, and even the IP addresses you logged in from.

Facebook says that this new information will eventually be available for download to all Facebook users and will include new categories of data in the future.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckenberg, announces the acquisition of the popular photo sharing app Instagram, in his Facebook Timeline, last Monday

Facebook has bought the popular photo sharing app Instagram, for a hefty amount of $1 billion. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckenberg, made the official announcement in a post in his Facebook Timeline: “I’m excited to share the news that we’ve agreed to acquire Instagram and that their talented team will be joining Facebook.”

Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom is likewise happy with the acquisition and has issued a statement in Instagram’s company blog saying: “We’re psyched to be joining Facebook and are excited to build a better Instagram for everyone.”

The sale is said to be finalized, later this quarter and will bring the nine-person staff of Instagram to Facebook’s corporate quarters.

Pop icon, Madonna joined Twitter last Monday to promote her latest album, MDNA.

Madonna has joined Twitter for a day to promote her latest studio album, MDNA. Her fans had the chance to interact with the pop icon at 10:00 p.m. EST/7:00 p.m. PST last Monday.

The website, Madonna.com/AskMadonna has announced this news:

“Madonna joins Twitter for one day only to answer fan questions and celebrate the release of her MDNA album. Got a question? #AskMadonna,”

Madonna’s official twitter account is “@MadonnaMDNAday”, with the first tweet sent last Sunday, promoting her one day twitter engagement with her fans. Fans can send her a message with the hashtag, #askmadonna. As of this time, the twitter account has almost 43,000 followers. This is Madonna’s opportunity to increase her social media presence. Her Madgesty also has an official Facebook account, where she has over 9 million subscribers.

It’s not clear if Madonna’s Twitter account will be shut down after this online event.

Facebook updates its photo viewer, now allows high-resolution photos and full-screen view.

Facebook has rolled out a couple of new updates for its photo viewer. Starting today, the photo viewer will automatically display images in the highest resolution possible that could go “up to four times” bigger on a large display.

It also includes a full-screen mode that gives an expanded view of those hi-res images that takes up your entire screen.

Facebook launches Messenger for Windows, Mac version coming soon.

Facebook on Monday unveiled its first standalone desktop app for the Windows platform. The aptly named Messenger for Windows is a desktop app that allows you to keep track of your conversations from your desktop, ‘without having to keep a browser tab open’.

The app, which looks and works very much like the social networking site’s chat bar, also allows you to keep track of your notifications with its own version of the site’s news ticker and notification inbox.
