The much-anticipated Facebook PS Vita app is now available for free download on the PlayStation Store.

Following the official US launch of its much-awaited handheld game console, Sony has added a Facebook app to the select free apps that will be available for the PlayStation Vita.

Facebook app is now available for 12MB download on the PlayStation Store, joining Twitter app LiveTweet, Flickr and Netflix in the list of free apps available for the PlayStation Vita.

Do you find it hard to look for a birthday present? Let this new Facebook app help you.

The company Bday recently unveiled a Facebook app called Bday Gift Finder which scans your friend’s profiles for hints for gift suggestions. Bday was funded $2 million dollar for this project.

The concept behind the Bday Gift Finder is simple. After you hooked up the app to your profile, it simply examines the pages liked by your friend. You can click on a friend’s profile to check the retailers where you can likely buy the gist. You can also directly buy the presents from Bday Gift Finder but it comes in the form of gift cards.

The long term goal of Bday is to partner with retailers. Evetually, the site will take percentage in every transaction made through Facebook. For now, the app is just driving the users to the retailers to urge them to shop for presents.

Facebook launches Timeline Apps platform which allows sharing of contents from third-party sites.

Facebook has officially launched its new Timeline Apps platform, a new platform which allows the integration of third-party Open Graph apps into the new Timeline.

The new Timeline Apps platform, which was first announced at last year’s f8 conference, allows news, entertainment and other services to ‘facilitate information sharing’ and lets users enhance their Timeline by integrating the apps into the social network.

While Google + has yet to catch up on Facebook, Google’s social networking site has experienced its strongest month and is expected to reach 400 million users by the end of 2012.

According to a data released by Experian Hitwise, a global internet marketing intelligence company, Google’s social networking site experienced a significant increase in traffic during the last few months and ‘more than doubled’ it in December.

Zuckerberg Takes Vacation in Vietnam Where Facebook is Blocked

The banned on Facebook in Vietnam is unofficial because of the fear will cause disagreement.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg spent Christmas in Vietnam and some says it was an ironic choice of destination. U.K.’s Daily Mail published this headline: “Status update: Mark Zuckerberg goes for a buffalo ride with his girlfriend in Vietnam…where his Facebook site is banned.”

Vietnam, which is known as a communist country, unofficially and occasionally blocks contents from the social networking site because of the fear it might spread disagreement among people.

Amidst this ban, VietNamNet said that there are four million Facebook users in Vietname and the number is increasing every day. Staff from Topas Ecolodge, where Zuckerberg stayed while on vacation, said that guests and locals have Internet access at the hotel. This mean the Facebook mogul may have been able to post Christmas greetings to his friends and families.

Facebook launches a major redesign, the new 'Timeline' feature which will soon replace the current user's profile view.

Facebook’s new Timeline feature is finally here. The new user interface that will soon start replacing the old user profile is now out of the beta period and available to 800 million users worldwide.

The new look that will soon replace the old profile page and wall, is one of Facebook’s biggest redesign in its history and was first announced on September during the f8 developer conference in San Francisco.
The Timeline which enables the users to be more creative, arranges all the events and activities in a chronological view, giving users more control on what they share and makes navigation easier and more interesting with its new layout.

Do You Work for Facebook? Good for You!

Facebook bagged the title as America’s top company to work for.

In the recent survey administered by Glassdoor, Facebook ranked third in the Best Places to Work category. This was based on the reviews of employees of workplaces across the nation.

Though Facebook’s rank was down this year, it still achieved a decent rate of 4.4 out of 5 and its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, got a rank of 93% approval rating.

MITRE Information Security came in the fourth place while Google placed fifth. Apple was at 10th place with 3.9 rating.
