FaceMash: The Facebook Prototype is Up for Auction

If you've watched the Social Network movie then you surely know what FaceMash.com is. For those who does not know, FaceMash is the prototype of your favorite social media, Facebook. It's now up for auction for $8,000.
We stumbled upon a site that says FaceMash.com is up for auction on Flippa. FaceMash is the Facebook prototype created by Mark Zuckerberg in his Harvard dorm room in one October night of 2003.
The doamin name was once under Harvard and splattered on the web pages are photos of women from the university. Visitors are then asked to select the prettiest. Allegedly, it attracted 450 visitors and generated 22,000 page views on its first night. But as what universities must do, Harvard pulled them out several days later. Now its still attracts a good amount of 600 visitors per month and after the movie, “The Social Network” it’s now up to 1,000 hits per day.
The domain name is listed at $8,000 and with zero bids.
