Safeway Plans a Tribute for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords

The people behind Safeway in Casas Adobles are planning to pay tribute to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' strength and fighting spirit.

It was reported that the people who run the Arizona store where Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot plans to pay tribute to the congresswoman. That said, Safeway bigwigs are planning to erect a monument in the congresswoman’s honor.

In addition to this, three new flagpoles will be installed to display the US flag, a flag with the congressional seal, and the Arizona state flag. The organizers are also hoping to hang a plaque outside the store to commemorate Gabrielle Giffords’ strength and fighting spirit.

Meanwhile, a representative from Safeway acknowledged that the plans are in motion. However, nothing has been finalized yet.

Gabrielle Giffords First Public Appearance After the Incident

After the tragic shooting in Tucson, Arizona earlier this year, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords made her first public appearance in an event at Space Center Houston.

After being released from the hospital, Representative Gabrielle Giffords made her first public appearance in a ceremony at Space Center Houston in Texas. Her husband astronaut, Mark Kelly, awarded with the Spaceflight Medal and announced his retirement from NASA on October 1.

Gabrielle Giffords and Mark Kelly held their hands for almost the entire event. The representative’s hair is shorter than her previous photos. She wears glasses, a beige scarf, light shirt, jeans and sneakers at the event. She’s talking to people around her, smiled and waved to the crowd where¬†received a standing ovation.

The two is planning to collaborate with Jeffrey Zaslow to create a book, which will include Gabrielle Giffords memories before and after the incident. While the congresswoman focuses on her recovery and struggling to relearn how to speak and walk, Mark Kelly would be the primary collaborator for the book.

After being shot to the head 5 months ago, Congresswomen Giffords' health condition is getting better day after day and she can't wait to return to her duties.

After being hospitalized for 5 months because of a gunshot on his head during a meeting with her constituents, Congresswoman Giffords was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday.

The Arizona Democrat’s cognitive abilities, physical strength and health condition had improved for the past 5 months and she will soon begin the outpatient treatment on the TIRR Memorial Hermann hospital, as the hospital’s report said.

Gabrielle Giffords’ Current Photos, Released on Facebook

Gabrielle Gifford's friends published two photos of her on Facebook last Sunday. On the said pics, people can see a new Gabrielle, without noticing any wounds on her forehead.

Recently, Facebook published two current photos of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. By looking at the pics, no one who’d ever know that this gorgeous lady was shot on the forehead five months ago. The said pictures were uploaded by Giffords’ staff last Sunday, showing her new look – shorter and darker hair – and a big smile that is full of happiness. The said photos were taken on May 17.

As shared by Pia Carusone, Giffords’ spokeswoman, the congresswoman has overcome a very traumatic experience after she surprisingly survived a gunshot to the left side of her brain. The accident took place in an assassination attack, which killed six innocent people and wounded 13 individuals last January 8. All of Gabrielle Giffords’ friends and love ones have been very thankful that she miraculously survived. However, the congresswoman is still suffering from some speech difficulties.
