Best Buy postpones orders for MacBook Air, and reported several details regarding Apple's plan in updating their current-generation laptops.

Best Buy suspended the shipping of MacBook Air, except for those who ordered through Apple’s online store. The retailer pointed out that the portables are still available in land-based stores, but were reported out of stock in some locations. At certain stores in U.K, purchasing MacBook Airwith 128GB of storage will be allowed only if the buyer is willing to pick it up on the store.

As rumors said, Apple is going to add new features to its Macbook Air: Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors and the Thunderbolt port. Apple is also expected to create a Gold Master version of Mac OS X Lion before launching them in July. The updated model will have almost 250 features, including a full screen apps, additional multi-touch gestures and Mission Control.

According to AppleInsider, the initial orders for Macbook Air were 400,000 units and were expected to reach eight million in the third quarter upon its launching. Actually, this is not really surprising, as Apple executive – Phil Schiller – boasted that the Macbook Air has been the key driver of the company. “It’s beautiful, it’s thin, it’s light, it’s fast. The whole PC industry wants to copy it,” Schiller stated.
