No free phone for this year’s Google I/O…but they gave away free tablets! OMG!
Google I/O, Google’s two day developer-focused conference, kicked off today. What’s the big deal? Organizers surprised each attendee with a Samsung 10.1 Android tablet.
Hugo Barra, director of Android product management, made the announcement during the opening of the event.
Phones have been the traditional giveaways in the previous Google I/O events and today’s surprise confirmed one thing: Google’s current priority is Android and they want developers to get engaged with it.
