Android Spurs On

Still the OS of the near future, Android will be.
Research firm Gartner tackled the stats yesterday: that within two years, Google’s Android and Nokia’s Symbian operating systems will still gobble up mobile-market shares.
.
The yearend rate for Android will increase to 17.7%, and will exponentially grow up to 29.6% in the coming months. The iPhone will continue to cater to the higher end of the market, Gartner pointed out, a lot of Android-powered products will get “more into the hands of the mainstream user.”
Google’s OS has already spent a splendid summer. CEO Eric Schmidt reported last month that 200,000 Android devices are sold daily. This trend came from “the fact that most of the vendors who are backing it will release cheaper smartphones.” NPD group backed this up with a report that Android accounted for 33 percent of smartphone sales in the U.S. Relatively, Blackberry went down to #2 at 28%, and Apple as third at 22%.
