Google helps Google Video subscribers transfer uploads to YouTube

Finally, Google thought of helping its Google Video subscribers by offering them an easier way to move their uploaded clips to YouTube.

Google notified Google Video users that the service will soon be shut down, and the videos can no longer be accessed and viewed after April 29. The users were given only until May 13 to download them before they would be deleted.

However, Google backed out from the deadline after a number of complaints from users, asking why can Google just rid them of the hassle and offer the an easier way to transfer videos from Google Video to another of its video services, YouTube. Now Google listened, and has made a move to address the user protests.

Google Video meets its end

Back-up your uploads from Google video before May 13, or forever they’ll be gone.

Google has announced in an email sent last April 15, 2011, Friday that it has decided to end its Google video service. The email also reminded its uses to download their uploaded videos in the site by May 13 before they are removed.

According to Google, the uploaded clips on Google video will no longer be viewable on April 29. The download function however, will only be available for a couple of week so that users could retrieve their videos. Users meanwhile, may opt to just re-upload their work to Google’s other, and now more popular video service, YouTube, which was acquired by Google back in 2006.
