Apple Removes Grooveshark Out of the App Store

It's so sudden. Apple just pulled Grooveshark out of its App Store, eight days after it hits. What's with Universal Music and they're complaining about the streaming app?
Eight days after Grooveshark hits the App Store, the music streaming application was booted out due to a complaint from Universal Music Group in UK. After being rejected by Apple, they relegated to the Cydia app directory for jailbroken devices. Then, after years of tweaking its app in order to make it legal, the music stream appeared in the App Store last August 8. However, it’s no longer in the list today. Universal Music sued Grooveshark for copyright infringement, claiming that the app illegally stream songs from the record company’s pre-1972 catalog.
“This comes as an absolute surprise to us, and we are not sleeping until we figure out exactly how to fix this–and get Grooveshark for iPhone back in the App Store.” according to the Grooveshark blog.
The company already fixed a lawsuit from EMI last October, agreeing to license its catalog. Grooveshark allows users to download songs and relies on them to upload music to its catalog. It has apps for Android, Blackberry and Symbian devices for Nokia.
