Google+ Hangouts on Air is finally out of beta testing, now available to Google+ users worldwide.

Google’s live video broadcasting feature, Google+ Hangouts on Air has finally completed its beta testing and is now available to Google+ users worldwide.

Google+ Hangouts on Air was first introduced last year to a ‘limited number of users’ and was subjected to several weeks of testing from a number of hand-picked ‘content creators’.

The White House joins Google+, will host regular 'Hangouts'.

The White House has followed the President’s lead and launched its own Google+ page. The official White House Google+ page which was announced on Friday, is latest of the current Administration’s efforts to reach out via social media.

“These are just some of the ways that we aim to engage with Americans on the issues that matter the most — and now, we’re pleased to add Google+ to this list.” The White House said on their official blog.

Google+ Against Facebook, a Battle for Social Media Supremacy

Google+ managed to become the current, biggest competitor of Facebook, as they started to allow everyone to sign-up to the fledgling social network.

As Google+ – a social networking site operated by Google Inc. – goes open for the public, it managed to out-announce Facebook by a wide margin.

Google+ currently have almost 20 million users, which is a great result of their numerous announcements of features or services they offer like Circles, Hangouts and Sparks. Google also added a search service on the said social network site, making them an instant competitor of Facebook. Google+ is said to be so rich that it could overwhelm a common Facebook user who wants to confine their usage patterns to the Facebook tools they know.
