Hulu will soon launch more original shows, starts with political comedy show 'Battleground'.

Online-video service Hulu will soon introduce more original content as part of its efforts to create an alternative to cable television that will blur ‘the lines between the Web and TV’.

Hulu announced on Sunday that it will soon launch two original shows and 10 all-new episodes of ‘A Day in the Life’, a documentary series which debuted last year. Among its new offerings are ‘Battleground’, a half-hour political comedy about a Senatorial campaign in Wisconsin which will air sometime in February and a travelogue show from ‘Before Sunset’ director Richard Linklater.

Skype Unleashes Video Calls for Limited Android Devices

Good news for selected Android smartphone owners! Skype just rolled out a new version of their video calls app for Android.

Skype has released an update of its Android app, which brings video calls to selected batch of Android devices. The Skype video calls for Android will be available for Google Nexus S, HTC Desire S, Xperia Neo and Xperia Pro. But as more smartphones are having front-facing camera and being updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread, expect the list of compatible device to grow longer.

Skype is following other companies, like Netflix and Hulu, to make previously unavailable apps accessible to limited devices. Check out the video after the break, to know more about Skype’s new version of video calls for Android.

The Hulu vs Boxee War is Over

The terms of the truce: Boxee, which makes software that enables to get Web video on TV, will remove links to Hulu’s free service -- but will give users the ability to use the Hulu Plus paid service.

Hulu and Boxee finally had their truce! Both Web Video services agreed with the terms that Boxee will remove the links to Hulu’s free service, and will be replaced with Hulu Plus paid service. The peace talk marks the end of a conflict that dates back to February of last year. But the big networks that own Hulu has already warmed to Boxee in the last year or so. And they appear to be more amendable to work together, now that Google TV is here. More over, Boxee is confirmed to have a deeper relationship to Netflix by the end of the year, and Hulu Plus is said to come “soon”.
