Foursquare users can now have a secured and protected check-ins into the site through HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure).

The location-based social network, Foursquare, recently announced over Twitter that the site is moving to HTTPS to “proactively increase the security of all foursquare accounts.”

Following the steps of social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, Foursquare have likewise started using HTTPS for its website, mobile site and smartphone clients.
