Steve Jobs Biopic to Begin Filming in May

The indie movie about the late Apple co-founder is slated to begin production in May in preparation for a fourth-quarter 2012 release.
The independent film about the late Apple co-founder is scheduled to begin filming in May. The movie which will be under the working title “Jobs: Get Inspired”. Producer Mark Hulme revealed that the plot will focus on the late Apple co-founder’s life between 1971 and 2000.
Actor Ashton Kutcher has been chosen to play the late Steve Jobs and will also feature actors Steve Wozniak, John Scully, Mike Markkula and Daniel Kottke to in play less-central character.

Facebook launches Messenger for Windows, Mac version coming soon.
Facebook on Monday unveiled its first standalone desktop app for the Windows platform. The aptly named Messenger for Windows is a desktop app that allows you to keep track of your conversations from your desktop, ‘without having to keep a browser tab open’.
The app, which looks and works very much like the social networking site’s chat bar, also allows you to keep track of your notifications with its own version of the site’s news ticker and notification inbox.

Google's own cloud storage service 'Google Drive' to be launched soon.
Google will soon launch a cloud storage service of its own, according to the Wall Street Journal. The service that is set to rival Dropbox is called ‘Drive’ and is expected to launch in the ‘coming weeks or month’, WSJ said on Wednesday.
Google Drive will offer the same service as other cloud storage services but aims to offer the service for a much lower price. Dropbox for example, offers 2GB of free storage and charges a monthly fee of $10 for 50GB or $20 for 100GB.

Verizon and Coinstar announce joint venture that will rival Netflix's streaming service.
Verizon and Redbox’s parent company Coinstar Inc., announced on Monday a tie up that will rival Netflix streaming content service.
The joint venture which aims to combine Redbox’s physical media rental service with streaming and movie downloads is expected to launch in the second half of 2012. Verizon holds the controlling stake with its 65 percent ownership share while Coinstar owns the rest.

Paramount becomes the first movie distributor to directly sell UltraViolet movies.
Paramount is the first to directly sell UltraViolet movies, a new ‘cloud-based’ content distribution system which allows you to watch digital copies of films using ‘multiple platforms and devices’.
This new platform was first introduced as a package deal that comes with the DVD or Blu-Ray discs but thanks to Paramount, customers can now stream the movie without having to purchase the physical format first.
Customers can now purchase movies on Paramount’s site which can be streamed and viewed live. Prices start at $13 for the standard definition and $20 for the HD version.

Time Warner Cable officially launches HBO Go and Max Go to its subscribers.
Four days after launching a beta trial, Time Warner Cable has officially released its new streaming service for HBO and Cinemax. HBO Go and Max Go are now available for HBO and Cinemax subscribers.
These new services give Time Warner Cable subscribers instant streaming access to its two channel’s back catalogs. HBO subscribers are offered over 1,400 shows while Max Go subscribers are given access to over 400 movies.

British Telecoms filed a lawsuit against Google for alleged infringement of six of the company’s patents.
British Telecoms, a UK based telecommunications services company is suing Google for allegedly violating six of the company’s patents.
The lawsuit, filed on Thursday in U.S. District Court in Delaware, claims that Google’s Android, Google Maps, Google Search and Google and other related services are ‘willfully’ violating six of British Telecom’s patents and demands triple of the amount of compensatory damages as well as injunction.

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) conducted a report about it and this is what the results the agency obtained.
Our current world population as estimated by the U.S. Census Bureau is roughly 6.876 billion. This just means that approximately 30% of our population is surfing the Internet. believe it or not. There will be 226 million new Internet users this year, 162 million are from developing companies.
