The data gathered by mobile ad shop Millennial Media also showed that iOS and Android devices tied for the total number of impressions last november. Each OS gathered exactly 38% of the month’s mobile impressions.
On the first tally, when devices are broken into categories based on the OS alone, Apple took the glory. But iPads and iPod touch devices were out of the picture only smartphones were taken into consideration, Android came out on top.
Android hardware went up above the vitality of operating system. In fact, 13 out of 30 top mobile devices as measured by Millenia were run by Android. Samsung and Motorola were the top manufacturers behind Apple. The original Droid stood-out hit among all the Android smartphones on the list.
However, the competitiveness of Apple didn’t end there. Apple’s iOS devices showed huge advantages in numbers. Both companies would have won in the mobile OS department.
