Paramount becomes the first movie distributor to directly sell UltraViolet movies.
This new platform was first introduced as a package deal that comes with the DVD or Blu-Ray discs but thanks to Paramount, customers can now stream the movie without having to purchase the physical format first.

Study reveals that iPhone 4S uses twice as much data as the previous iPhone model.
Arieso, a company that optimizes mobile network and performance has released a study that reveals that Apple’s latest iPhone model, iPhone 4S consumes “twice as much data as the previous iPhone model, and even more than IPad tablets due to increasing use of online services like the virtual personal assistant Siri” the report says.

U.S. court denies Apple's request to block sales of Samsung Galaxy devices
“It is not clear that an injunction on Samsung’s accused devices would prevent Apple from being irreparably harmed,” U.S. judge wrote in a decision that came out last Friday, December 2, denying Apple’s appeal for a preliminary injunction against Samsung and from stopping it from selling Galaxy smartphones and tablets.

Google opened the doors of its new social network, Google+, to the public.
Google+, the new social-networking site from Google, is now open for everyone! “Google Inc. on Tuesday broadened its assault on rival Facebook Inc. by opening its Google+ online social network to the public,” Amir Efrati of The Wall Street Journal wrote in a blog. The social site has been in a trial for the past several months, offering limited invitations to users as it improves its service.
“Google+, which launched in late June and which up till now had only been open by invitation to users, is also putting a heavier emphasis on video, one of its main technology advantages over Facebook. With the aim of expanding their mobile app, Foursquare decided to roll out five new languages.
Foursquare recently announced that they have kicked off support for additional five new languages: Bahasa Indonesian, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Thai. These add-ons now gave their app a total of 11 languages.
The new languages are only available for the latest versions of foursquare app in iPhone, Android and Blackberry devices. Users could activate the languages just by updating their app and making sure that their phone’s default language is set to the preferred language. The official website of Foursquare also supports the new languages. To choose a desired language, users would just need to click the “English” button in the lower left corner of the page.
Meanwhile, a blog post from Foursquare discussed the success that their application received. “Since then, our in-country use has exploded, with tons of people, local businesses, and brands hopping on,” they stated.
This would be the second time for the company to release a new batch of languages. In the Mobile World Congress last February, co-founder and CEO -Dennis Crowley – said that the app would be translated into French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.View Article Source »
Facebook is looking forward to challenging Instagram through releasing a dozen of dominant Photo Filters.
According to a report from the New York Times, Facebook is planning to outrun Instagram through adding new photo filters into its mobile applications. The social giant is indeed trying to enter the world of phone art photography after having a failed attempt to acquire the Instagram app.
Two Facebook engineers have just confirmed that there are already few Instagram-like photo filters slated for a release. However, its launching date still remains undisclosed. The report also states that Mark Zuckerberg, the site’s founder and CEO, is urging engineers and artists “to create more filters before releasing the new product”. “Facebook will also try to introduce new styles of filters with the hopes of drawing users away from other photo apps.”Read the rest of the article »
