Tom Cruise may be in talks to star in the 1986 hit Top Gun, but it doesn't seem to happen anytime soon. And with Jerry Bruckheimer unable to crack it with Cruise, should fans take it with a grain of salt?

Tom Cruise is rumored to star in a much talked about Top Gun sequel. But it’s not going to happen any time soon. According to the movie’s original producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, it is not the first time that a follow-up to the 1986 blockbuster has been buzzed. They’ve been contemplating on coming up with a sequel since Top Gun was released. Tom Cruise indeed took a run on it a couple of years ago, but they “just couldn’t crack it”. So whatever will be the turn out now remains to be seen.

Top Gun sequel anyone?
