”I’m Still Here” is a Bogus Film

The painful truth: Affleck’s documentary about Joaquin Phoenix’s downfall is all but a fake.
Casey Affleck, director of the documentary “I’m Still Here”, confessed that the movie was just a performance. Affleck comes clean last Thursday morning. “It’s a terrific performance, it’s the performance of his career.”
The documentary was released last week by Magnolia Pictures. It follows the “real” life story of Joaquin Phoenix as an aspiring rap star. After its release, angry comments were made by critics and many moviegoers are left in confusion.
Not a single part of the plot of the movie is real —even Phoenix’s appearance on the David Letterman show. It was intentional for Phoenix to show up as an absurd star.
This coming Wednesday, Phoenix will return to Mr. Letterman’s show but as his own self and not acting up a character.
