Twitter Upbeats Student Engagement

Dr. Reynol Junco conducted a study that suggests the use of Twitter in learning. Though a communication limited to 140 characters may seem odd, the results are pointing out otherwise.
Communicating in 140-character segments may be contradicting an academic goal. But a new study has resulted otherwise. According to an experiment conducted by Dr. Reynol Junco: Students contributing to class discussion and completing homework using Twitter increase their student engagement over a semester to more than 200% that of a control group. More than the improvement in student engagement, the 70 students also achieved and average of 0.5 increase in their overall GPA for the semester.
