Written on December 30, 2010 by B Waldorf

"Anyone privy to the release of the iPhone is going to hold on to their current device as long as they possibly can, all but Scotch taping their devices together so that they can crawl over the finish line and into the loving arms of a shiny new iPhone. (Oh, you know the box is gonna be sexy.)" ---John Mayer on iPhone

It’s amazing how one thing could change the course of where humanity is headed. iPhone has definitely altered the lives of everyone. For the techno-geeks, the iPhone is the world’s very first smartphone. Without the iPhone, the Android and any other Window’s spawn would just be a mere figment of one’s imagination. The iPhone is something everyone would desire, something that anyone would die to have or atleast wait in line for days.

And for every great innovation, there’s a great beginning. And if you’re part of the iPhone cult then the next part is for you. Take a stroll down memory lane with AllWeLike, as we show you iPhone’s short but sweet history with this infographic provided by the great people of Mashable.

Netflix Streams on Selected Androids Only

Written on November 15, 2010 by B Waldorf

This news is somewhat on the gray area. Netflix will be start streaming on Android devices but on just selected units. What do you think?

Year 2011 will be a good start for something new. As with Android users, Netflix will stream on you smartphones starting next year. No need to envy your friends friends who use WP7 or iPhone mobiles. Unfortunately, the app is limited to a few Android OS.

Netflix’s product development head, Greg Peters, reinstated in his blog yesterday that “the lack of a generic and complete platform security and content protection mechanism available for Android” was the one thing which stops the expansion of the platform to other Android devices.

“We are eager to launch on these devices and are disappointed that we haven’t been able to do so already,” he also wrote.

Since there’s no solution yet, Netflix works now with individual hardware manufacturers to the supported devices. First batch of the decives will be getting the app by 2011. But Peters said the company is already working on a platform-wide solution but no final words about the release date.

Let’s wait and see to where this project goes.

EA Games Unleashed for Windows Phone 7

Written on October 12, 2010 by B Waldorf

Comments Off

Last weekend, Microsoft made a big mistake in putting Angry Birds in their ads. This made Rovio a little bit upset. Today, EA Games released the games that will be included in Windows Phone 7. But still WP7 needs a alert third party apps and games to gain victory over Android and Apple.

EA is a titan when it comes to video games. And now they make a bigger step towards game supremecy with a support on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 platform. The big plus? Let’s say an Xbox Live-enabled game starting 2010.

The first few titles of EA Mobile are The Sims 3, Tetris, Monopoly and Need for Speed Undercover.

All of these are franchises on existing mobile phones so it is not exclusive to Windows phone 7. But the Xbox Live online gaming network stays as an advantage. Even if Apple quite made it at Game Center, still WP7 is more tasty to game developers and gamers themselves. All EA games will support the Xbox Achievements. This includes badges and goals awarded for a job well done. These will add to your game score shared in between Windows Phone 7, Games for Windows and Xbox 360 games.

But surely WP7 should atleast have a third party apps in order to level with Android and iPhone.

Are you excited for the Windows Phone 7?

The rumors about Microsoft Phone 7 are giving us headaches, but the sight of this marvelous gadget is somewhat a relief.

Rumor has it. The much awaited Windows Phone 7 will set foot on Europe on October 21. This piece of information was tipped offby the sources close to Microsoft.

While innocent until proven guilty, it’s something that makes people excited. Reports had concluded that the definite time of launch is the month of October, and just recently Microsoft announced that they are ready. An initial report from a Spanish website El Economista said that the phones are for release in Spain on the 21st. But there is another report that UK, France, Germany and Italy are also on the list. But nothing was said about the US release.

In addtion, there is also a report that says Microsoft will boast the new phone at a New York City event this October 11. Just then Microsoft will have partnership with a popular London-based radio station to promote the phone in UK.

Are these rumors true? Only time will time.
