Feel a bit a short with the music previews on iTunes? Cheer up because Apple had just advised records labels that previews of songs are made longer to last for 90 seconds.

Good news everyone! Apple had just informed music companies that it will triple the length of music previews from 30 seconds to 90. This rumor has been up even before. There are speculations before that from 30 it will be 60. But instead of the rumor to double up, Apple made it triple.

From the letter sent by Apple to the labels:

“We are pleased to let you know that we are preparing to increase the length of music previews from 30 seconds to 90 seconds on the iTunes Store in the United States. We believe that giving potential customers more time to listen to your music will lead to more purchases.”

For the music lovers and record label owners, this must be an eraly Christmas gift.
