Skype Unleashes Video Calls for Limited Android Devices

Good news for selected Android smartphone owners! Skype just rolled out a new version of their video calls app for Android.

Skype has released an update of its Android app, which brings video calls to selected batch of Android devices. The Skype video calls for Android will be available for Google Nexus S, HTC Desire S, Xperia Neo and Xperia Pro. But as more smartphones are having front-facing camera and being updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread, expect the list of compatible device to grow longer.

Skype is following other companies, like Netflix and Hulu, to make previously unavailable apps accessible to limited devices. Check out the video after the break, to know more about Skype’s new version of video calls for Android.

The first Gingerbread-powered smartphone starts shipping fellas! But before anything else, check out Google's hilarious video as their trusty ninjas unbox the Google Nexus S.

The first Gingerbread-powered smartphone is now on sale! The Google Nexus S is now available at Best Buy’s brick-and-mortar locations and online stores. The 4-inch Contour display handset costs $529 without a contract, and goes $199 with a two-year T-Mobile deal in the US. Purchasing the Google Nexus S via Best Buy’s online store qualifies you for a free shipping. And if you are still contemplating on whether or not to get the Nexus S, Best Buy got a demo unit in each of its stores so you can give the new handset a try. Moreover, Google announces that the Nexus S will also be available at the Carphone Warehouse on the 20th.

It's been much rumored for some time now, but today the next-generation of official Google phone is real. Samsung and Google today announced the world's first handset to ship with the latest version of Google's Android platform – Nexus S

It’s official! Samsung and Google announced Nexus S as the first handset to land on Android 2.3, better known as Gingerbread, today. The upcoming mobile device features Samsung’s Super AMOLED four-inch Contour Display, 16GB of internal memory, gyroscope sensor, VGA front-facing camera, five megapixel rear camera and camcorder, 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, and Near Field Communication or NFC. The NFC technology enables users to read information on everyday objects embedded with NFC chips. The Nexus S will hit online stores and glasses at Best Buy on December 17 and at Carphone Warehouse Retailers on December 20. The handset will cost $199 with a two-year contract from T-Mobile or $529 if unlocked.
