Mark your calendars! Nintendo 3DS hits the shelves on March 27.

Are you excited to have the Nintendo 3DS? Then two more months of waiting before it lands on your hands.

Here’s a very big surprise from Nintendo: the 3DS will be available starting March 27 carrying the price tag of $249.

Nintendo 3DS will ship in two colors: aqua blue and black. The game slot will accept both 3DS and DS games and it will be available with a 2GB SD card and charging cradle. The home button located at the bottom part will allow players to pause the game and change applications and a 3D slider that controls the depth of the picture.

Happy Pre-Order a Nintendo 3DS Day!

Written on January 20, 2011 by Chris Martin

They're not lining up to get a 3DS, but they're lining up to make sure they get a 3DS once it hits the stores next month.

The Nintendo 3DS is so popular that people are starting to line-up around the techi-est district in Japan. But the Nintendo 3DS won’t be launched until next month there, so what the heck are these people doing outside the streets of Akihabara? Don’t worry, these people are not planning to camp outside for 30+ days (though we wouldn’t be surprised if they did). These people are lining up to get a shot for the pre-orders of the handheld console which Nintendo has officially kicked off today at retailers nationwide.

A blogger where the photo was posted has mentioned that around 260 people were lined up for pre-orders, but that was hours ago. Imagine how many people are out there waiting to get a reaffirmation that they’ll have one on release date. Reports say that only 400,000 Nintendo 3DS units will be available upon release date. Nintendo has mentioned that a total of 1.5 million consoles will be available until the end of the fiscal year or March 31. No word yet as to how many 3DS units will be available in other parts of the globe once the console has been released on March 27.

When Will You Buy a Nintendo 3DS?

Written on January 16, 2011 by Chris Martin

For the Nintendo 3DS, probably the question now is no longer "am I gonna buy it?" but "when will I buy it?"

Nothing excites the urge to buy something than the glamor of a hype. “It’s new!,” “It’s different,” and for this particular era, “It’s 3D!” But most of the times, we just fall into the trap of the hype and usually get disappointed at the very end (M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender in 3D). Sometimes however, no matter how bad the reviews are or will be, you cannot help but take a bite at it for yourself, especially if its completely innovative beyond human comprehension. Nintendo is just a couple of weeks away from unleashing its 4-million strong (or weak) army of Nintendo 3DS throughout the world. The question probably now is no longer “Am I gonna buy it,” but “When.”

Overall, there are 3 factors that comes into mind whenever we ask ourselves is it right to buy the Nintendo 3DS or a new handheld console upon release. The games, the value/features, and the psychological reward that comes with it (aka bragging rights).
