Opera Software has released its alpha version of its Opera Mobile software for smartphones running on Symbian OS. Opera points out that the new JavaScript performance of Opera Mobile 10.1 for web browsing is nine times faster than its predecessors. The final version supports geo-location web app, real-time performance compilation to the Carakan JavaScript engine, tabbed browsing, password manager, Opera Link and speed dial. Furthermore, the Opera Turbo compression servers shrink web pages to small percentage of its original size to reduce data costs and speed up browsing.
