Sobees released their newest application that was designed for Facebook -- the NewsMix for Facebook!

Social software maker, Sobees, released NewsMix — a social magazine specifically designed for Facebook. The NewsMix for Facebook application provides updates from the Facebook Pages you like in a magazine-like fashion.

The said application joins Sobees’ other NewsMix application for web and iPad. The company’s goal is to create a digital newsstand which is relevant to each user and appropriate for each platform.

In the Facebook application, collected stories represent the articles, photos and videos as posted by Facebook Pages. The user can also check out Facebook friends’ magazines and like pages they discover as they browse.

Facebook Allows Tagging Pages on Your Photos

Other than your friends, you can now tag your favorite People or Brand & Products on your Facebook photo.

Starting yesterday, Facebook now allows its users to tag certain People or Brand & Products on their photos. In addition to this, the images will appear on the page’s Photo Tab rather than on its Wall. To make the news even better, Facebook users can tag a certain page even if they haven’t ‘Like’ it.

Page Admins, on the other hand, can nix photos on their tab by going to Edit Page > Posting Options > and un-checking the ‘Users can add photo’. For those who are concerned about their privacy, the social networking site guarantees that your privacy setting still applies.

This move can be an advantage to certain brands, as this can result to free advertising once people started tagging pages.

Foursquare Welcomes Brands Without Store-front

With Foursquare for Business, “brands that are not tied to a specific physical location” can now use Foursquare’s Pages and Custom Badges in their social media marketing mix.

Until last week, Foursquare was designed for brick-and-mortar businesses. But with their latest Foursquare for Business page, brands that do not have physical location can now use the network’s Pages and Custom Badges.

Foursquare is working with brands that has no store-front to create customer badges and other campaigns. With the help of paid sponsorship, users can unlock a custom badge related to a brand after checking-in at specific location.
