The Right Time for PlayStation 4′s Release

When is the right time for Sony to release its PlayStation 4?
Recent reports suggested that Sony will be releasing its next-gen PS console, the PlayStation 4, as early as 2012. In relation to this, a SlashGear article by Don Reisinger is pushing that the company must unveil the PS4 as soon as possible. This is due to the reaction of Sony fans with regards to the new console, and the fact that PS3 is not doing well in the US. Moreover, the PlayStation Move was not able to caught the gamer’s fancy the way Microsoft Kinect did.
Furthermore, if Sony will bring out the PlayStation 4, it will divert all the talks about the company’s recent troubles with its PlayStation Network. If they could also time the unveiling of the new PlayStation console with Nintendo Wii U’s release, it may preempt gamers from switching to the upcoming handheld gaming device. Sony must also have to worry about Microsoft’s plan. However, there are a lot of PlayStation 3 owners who may have only signed up recently. So seeing that a new console is coming won’t please them — big time!
Hence, it may be ideal for Sony to release its PS 4 next year and be the first on the line. But they could also wait for their competitors’ next move before showing their hand. Would you like to see the PlayStation 4 hit the shelves next year? Let your opinions be heard at the comments.
