NFC’s Future: From Mobile Wallet to Angry Birds
From paying things by simply waving a phone to to unlocking your door, NFC will become a part of every smartphone user's life in the future.
To those who doesn’t know yet, Near Field Communications (NFC), is a hot technology nowadays. In fact, various influential companies are betting that NFC will play a prominent role in people’s lives in the future. From mobile payments and digital wallets to smart doors and interactive toys, this technology will simplify tasks and will enable users to do unimaginable things.
James Anderson, Senior Vice President of Mobile at MasterCard, cited two recent events which proves that NFC’s tipping point is soon to come. First was Google’s inclusion of the technology in Android and AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon’s announcement that they will be creating a NFC-enabled mobile wallet system. Second is the search engine giant’s announcement of its own digital wallet.
