Angry Birds HD Angers Downloaders

Written on March 22, 2011 by R. Depp

Excited for the free version of Anger Birds HD? Don’t be to giddy just yet, iPad users. This version might come in with more than what you expected: tons of advertisements.

According to news, Rovio is receiving numerous complaints from the downloaders of its addicting game — Angry Birds. Aside from the new game levels and features, pop-up ads were also added in the app, disrupting the gameplay.

Also, social and digital media new site Mashable.com reports that:

“People are complaining in the iTunes Customer Reviews about the ads, not necessarily because they’re there — advertisements already adorned the Angry Birds HD level-selection screen. However, now if you want to try a level again, when you pause and start over on that level, the “Rovio News” ads show up, slowing down your quest for the coveted three eggs on that particular level.”

It is frustrating to be disrupted while in the middle of playing such a hooking game. So Rovio, just remove the ads, will you?

How about little leprechaun birds against the green pigs this St. Patrick's Day?

Rovio’s “Mighty Eagle”, Peter Vesterbacka, announced during their GDC panel that the top-billed game Angry Birds will be having its seasonal update.

St.Patrick’s day is coming to Angry Birds Seasons. After the Pink Valentine’s Season update, here comes the fowls with another seasonal offering. Are players gonna see little leprechaun birds? one things for sure, expect the update right before St. Patrick’s Day.

Rovio also mentioned something about the Angry Birds Rio game, a tie-up with the upcoming animated film:

“We could make it work nicely with Angry Birds and the backstory. It could be the first time the birds leave the island, and are kidnapped by smugglers. This is not one of these lame movie games, but a separate game that works nicely with teh movie.”

Angry Birds Rio will be out come March 22, for $.99 on Apple’s App Store.
