The craze of Windows Phone 7 consumed most of 2010. This happened since Microsoft give their bets in the smartphone business for the second time around. These Windows Phone 7 units unlike the iPhone is under comtract with different providers. The three most prominent names are Samsung, Dell and HTC.

During the press release of the Windows Phone 7, Steve Ballmer, CEO for Microsoft said:
