Countless apps are likely to get a lot of real-world data dumped into their databases. Thanks to two new data sources available for free as of today from SimpleGeo.

With the help of free data sources available today, a tad full of applications are likely to get a lot of real-world data dumped into their databases. With that, SimpleGeo launched two free application programing interfaces, the SimpleGeo Context API and SimpleGeo Places API, into public beta today. The APIs provide a large amount of information about the 13 million places in the United States. The SimpleGeo Context API offers a raw dump of boundary related information about any nearby places, including weather and demography. The SimpleGeo Places API, meanwhile, gives Point of Interest about those places, like restaurant, landmarks, churches, parks and more. Those information provided by two SimpleGeo APIs will be forever free to anyone building an application that needs local context.
