TGS Unveils Gameplay Footage for Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance

A four-minute gameplay video clip for the upcoming 3DS title, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, has been unleashed during the TGS 2011 event.

Famitsu just revealed a four-minute video clip from this year’s Tokyo Game Show event, showing off the upcoming game developed and published by Square Enix — the Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. The said footage heavily focused on highlighting the title’s gameplay.

The video, which can be viewed after the break, shows Sora while he awakes in Traverse Town in some new clothing. As he was wondering how he got from the famous city and was shouting for his missing friend, Riku, Sora was caught into a battle or two against the Darkness. The combat used the A button to attack, B to jump, X for magic, and Y to unleash special attacks — such as Sora doing a mid-air combo, bouncing of walls to hit enemies, and even swinging around a light post.

Dragon Quest Celebrates its 25th Anniversary

As the legendary Dragon Quest series celebrate its 25th anniversary, Square Enix will be giving away some prices and special edition items that will be available in Japan soon.

The popular series, Dragon Quest or Dragon Warrior, will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. For the said event, Square Enix will be giving away prices to its avid fans. There’s also a rumor that Wii collection will be coming out soon. However, some of the prices are less practical, like a plushie slimes and a Smile Slime Crystal Mascot figurine that measures about 6 centimeters tall. Both items have a DQ 25th anniversary on their back. These items cost about 1554 yen or almost $19 US.

Square Enix also offers some special edition Tote bag for the anniversary of the series that will cost about $26 and Dragon Quest business card holders that will display artworks from the first three games. All of these stuffs will be available starting July in Japan.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s specs seems to be fairly low, though the game’s quality still looks good. Square Enix’s new upcoming game is set to his the streets on August 26, after being delayed from a Spring release.

Xenogears Goes PSN-bound

Ask and you shall receive. Finally! Xenogears will be hitting the North American PSN on February 22.

Square Enix’s classic PlayStation-era RPG, Xenogears, is finally coming to the North American PlayStation Network. And according to the PlayStation Blog, the game is set to drop on the next PlayStation Store update on February 22.

For those who doesn’t know, Xenogears was first released in 1998, and has only been re-released once on the Japanese PlayStation Store ten years later. And now, the Xenogears is hitting the North American network! However, words on when the science-fiction console RPG will hit the European PSN is yet to be known. But in case the news come up, All We Like will surely keep you posted.

Kingdom Hearts fans from North America need to wait no longer as Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded is now released for Nintendo DS players. The 3rd Birthday game is finally out!

Playing this newly-released game means another enjoyable Christmas activity for the family. The Third Birthday is an action role-playing game from Square Enix. The game is developed for the PlayStation Portable and will mark the third entry in the Parasite Eve series after Parasite Eve 2, which was released in 2000.

The game is described by Square Enix as a “cinematic action RPG.” Director Hajime Tabata noted that the gameplay and plot are intertwined because of the concept called “Overdive,” which is an ability that lets players switch bodies with another member of the team. Using the skill, player can freely control other people. The overdive feature also allows Aya to dive into the mind of the Twisted causing lethal damage. Player can alter currently controlled character in real-time and intermixed it with other combat actions.
