Reap the benefits of making an awesome video for your startup.

Recording a demo video while navigating through a new web application with an expert hand is the best way to show its features. Several startups pay a pro to create a video for them, but more people make their own. However, sometimes they end up making a terrible one.

Attachments.me, a startup that makes sorting of email attachments easier, has a pretty good demo video on its frontpage. Benjamin Coe, the co-founder of the said company, posted a video that tackles about videos and his methods for creating simple demo videos that would be beneficial for other people. Each individual has different styles and approaches in making videos, but like Benjamin Coe claimed, it is important to have a plan first.

Pulse has 4 million users and raised $9 million

Social and visual news reader application for Pulse, is celebrating two major milestones Thursday. It currently has four million users across all its mobile platforms and raised $9 million in Series A funding.

In the past six months, the startup’s applications have drastically popped. Pulse’s interaction design is what the 10-person team has been focused on optimizing. This has then rewarded with a placement in Apple’s App Store Hall of Fame.

Because of this, investors were apparently enthusiastic to participate in the financing round. Pulse went for New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Greycroft Partners and Lerer Ventures.

Pulse co-founder Akshay Kothari says about the company’s selections, “More than the money, it was the opportunity to work with three terrific firms that are all complimentary.” He adds, “Alan [Patricof] and Ken [Lerer] were part of the original team who financed the Huffington Post, and we look forward to leveraging the insight they gained from building a new paradigm in news.”
