UberTwitter Out, UberSocial In

In accordance with the rules of Twitter, UberMedia dropped the name UberTwitter and changed it to UberSocial.

Since UberTwitter was suspended, UberMedia CEO Bill Gross thought of a great remedy to the problem: create a new app and name it UberSocial.

The suspension took place since Twitter is not pleased with apps with names that resemble their own name. Here’s the official statement of Gross about the change in name:

PASADENA, CA – February 18, 2011 – Early Friday morning, Twitter shut off access to its service by several of our Twitter client applications: UberTwitter, Twidroyd, and UberCurrent. Twitter then notified us that they believed we were in violation of several provisions of their terms of service.
