Facebook and Skype is going hand in hand anytime soon. With this integration, we can't wait to try it.

Facebook and Skype are planning to connect their networks and accounts. ATD was able to provide a screenshot showing the new features in action. Once you open your Skype with Facebook you can send SMS, chat or call your Facebook friends directly from Skype. You can also log in to Skype with your Facebook credits.

The newest features will go live on Skype 5.0 when the new version goes out of beta in a couple of weeks.

It’s quite a logical step for both ends. Facebook’s chat is limited compared to what Google Talk does, with integration from Gmail, and offers voice and video chat capabilities. Making new ways to communicate with your Facebook contacts is one of Facebook’s main goals. Skype is extending a hand to Facebook with its 500+ million users.
