BestBuy Sells HP TouchPad in US Again

Written on August 22, 2011 by Lulu

BestBuy started selling their remaining TouchPad stocks last Sunday.

In the wake of HP’s decision to shutter its webOS division, ending all hardware development and production, BestBuy has reconsidered its position in selling the TouchPad. Instead of returning unsold ToucPads to HP, BestBuy decided to sell all the remaining units in their hands.

While not all stores have stock, those that do only have them in limited numbers. It is also expected that it will quickly sell out of any remaining stocks on hand. BestBuy stores which have units of the said device in stock will be selling the 16GB Wi-Fi only model for $100, while the 32GB Wi-Fi model will be sold for $150. The stocks of the said device are limited to one unit per customer, while all the sales will be final with no exchange or refunds offered for any reason.

The expected rush for the remaining units represents an interesting scenario for HP. Questions are likely to be asked as to whether it exited the market too soon – given the renewed interest in the product – regardless of support for it being severed beyond its 12 month warranty.

Palm Pre 2's predecessor, the Palm Pre, is not quite a success. Good thing is Palm Pre 2 is different. Why? Because According to SFR, this phone can compete with iPhone and Android. Let's see if it really does reach the standard.

French phone carrier SFR brought new surperises yesterday. Palm Pre 2 had been lurking in the Internet with rumored specifications and images. SFR referred actually to these rumors as “flatter” and “more refined” than the original.

Palm Pre 2 is a follow up to last year’s Palm Pre who happens to be a flop. The Pre 2 carries a 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. Boosting over the  600 MHz processor and 256 MB of RAM of its predecessor. Plus, more competitive to the iPhone market and the Droid 2. Palm Pre 2 will carry WebOS 2.0.

That’s what we know about the specs. Also, SFR says that Pre 2 will push notifications on Facebook such as wall posts and social media updates.

Looks like Palm has both the guts and power now.
