It this it? Is Nokia 703 the first Windows Phone 7 handset from the company?

An alleged slide presentation for a carrier was accidentally leaked, unveiling Nokia 703. The handset is believed to be the first Windows Phone 7 device from Nokia, and it is very much akin to Sea Ray.

The leaked slide even lists some specs for Nokia 703, however, they were almost illegible. Almost, because if you stare at the categories long enough, you might see the fine print.

But bear in mind that the mentioned specs are just mere speculations from the fine print. That said, these can be subject to change. Moreover, take these features as a handful of salt.

Windows Phone 7 Mango Firmware Leaks

Written on August 15, 2011 by Lulu

Windows Phone 7 Mango's stocked RTM was leaked out during the weekend. Thanks to Hobbyists!

Hobbyists had successfully posted a downloadable stock version of the RTM (release to manufacturing) build of Windows Phone 7 Mango during the weekend. XDA-Developers forum member said that the 7720 build is the reference version and isn’t optimized specifically for any device. As such, some special features may be missing.

The OS will work on a core level on most WP7 hardware. Chassis guidelines from Microsoft so far had led every phone to run the same Snapdragon processor families and otherwise have much of the same part mix inside.

Upgrading is nonetheless a risky move for almost all owners, since it won’t come along with Microsoft approval and by means breaks the warranty. As such, owners who want to patch to a newer version of Mango likely won’t have an option except for getting a separate version of the generic updated build or reverting back to the original firmware to do the usual upgrade method.

The Mango operating system for WP7 is not just making its devices 'smarter', it will also bring a new web-based version of the Windows Phone Marketplace.

As posted on Microsoft’s Windows Phone Developer Blog, the company will launch a new web-based version of the Windows Phone Marketplace together with the rolling out of Mango operating system this fall. The web-based Marketplace will enable users to choose and buy from its 17,000 apps on a web browser and directly send it to their Windows Phone 7 over the air.

However, if the Marketplace service is not activated on a cellphone, it will use SMS to turn on the over-the-air app service before a user can download and install a software. Microsoft’s Bing Partners with RIM

Looks like RIM is ditching Google for Microsoft’s Bing.

Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer, confirmed during the Research In Motion’s (RIM) Blackberry World conference in Florida that RIM has partnered with the computier giant. Since yesterday, Microsoft’s Bing will be the default search and map application for BlackBerry smartphones.

Bing’s search and mapping technology will include location-based services. Furthermore, the Bing-Blackberry partnership will also include voice search and Street View-esque maps, all to be integrated at an OS level.

According to Mashable, the continuing impact of a Microsoft/RIM deal for search might be minimal, but this partnership may also lead to more collaboration points between the two companies in the future.

Rumor alert! Microkia's Nokia W7 and W8 is making its way to the Windows Phone 7 market. Users might spot at least one of them before the year ends.

Mobile Review’s Eldar Murtazin revealed some details about the first fruits of the Microkia team up — the Nokia W7 and W8. Apparently, these devices will resemble Nokia X7 and N8 respectively.

The Nokia W7, the first working Windows Phone 7 prototype, departs from its Symbian sibling with its WVGA display, 8MP camera with autofocus and Qualcomm QSD8250 chipset. The Finland-based mobile phone manufacturer eyes a Q4 release for Nokia W7, but there’s a big chance that the device will hit the stores in early 2012 instead. Following the W7 is the Nokia W8. With Nokia N8 as the basis, this device is packed with 12MP camera, Qualcomm dual-core CPU and an Adreno 320 GPU.

It seems that the mocked up Nokia WP7 which appeared at MWC 2011 will make a tangible reappearance soon.
