YouTube Now Allows 2D-3D Video Conversion and More

YouTube enhances their editing tools and services once again with video conversion and more.

YouTube once again upgraded its editing tools on Wednesday, with more than what it had already added last week. YouTube added a beta that allows users to convert 2D videos to 3D with a single-click tool. The conversion is strictly software-based, but it will save the user to own a 3D-capable phone or tablet just to have a 3D-video.

All users now has the ability to upload unlimited-length videos as the 15-minute cap was lifted. This will be done by passing an account check through a phone text message.

The regular editing tools have grown deeper through new deals. Vlix adds more effects than those YouTube added earlier, including text tilting at the start or end of a clip. Magisto is a very rough parallel to Magic iMovie, and automatically cuts raw video into shorter, more action-driven segments. However, none of the features are available in a mobile app until now.

YouTube introduces their newest feature that will allow users to edit their uploaded videos on-site.

Several YouTube users might notice that they can now edit their videos on-site. That is because of the video sharing site’s new feature that was released globally on Wednesday.

By the use of on-site video editing feature, it will enable the users to edit uploaded YouTube videos while also maintaining the original one’s IDs — making it possible to hold onto view counts and comments. Existing links to the video will also continue to operate. All you have to do is click “Edit Video” on your video’s page or on the My Videos page.

While the editing feature isn’t necessarily meant to replace software like Final Cut Pro, it is meant to help users fix their videos in a less time consuming way.

Start your Google+ Hangout with friends by watching a video on YouTube.

Hangouts is one of the niftiest features of Google+. Aside from being a free service, it also supports ten simultaneous users, and negates the awkwardness in coordinating video call. Simply put, any of your friends can hop in and out of the Hangout any time — provided that you shared it with them. In addition to this, you can also play a YouTube video for all of your friends at the same time.

That said, YouTube rolled out a new option to make it easier for users to jump into one of Hangouts’ video sharing session. Users can now start a Hangout, straight from a YouTube video’s ‘Watch’ page. By simply clicking the option, a window will pop up and prompt a user to choose which Google+ Circles he’d like to share the Hangout and video with.

With Google saying that the Hangouts application is a platform built for enjoying shared experiences with friends, it seems that the Hangouts from YouTube is just the beginning. Users will probably be able to Hangout while playing games, showing off photo galleries, or even when watching live-streamed shows.

But don’t forget, your friends must be in Google+ too and logging in on a regular basis.
